Dr. Anuj Gupta

Founder

Dr. Anuj Gupta is an accomplished clinician, educator, and entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in medical education and healthcare innovation. A graduate of James Cook University in Townsville, he completed his postgraduate training in Queensland and has since worked across Australia, particularly in roles supporting undergraduate and postgraduate medical education.

Coming from a family of four generations of medical academics, Dr. Gupta brings a global perspective shaped by his life across Africa, the Middle East, Asia, the South Pacific, and Australia. In recent years, he has focused on developing innovative healthcare and educational delivery models, earning recognition from notable organizations such as the Australian Financial Review, the Australian Indian Business Council, and the Gold Coast City Council. His entrepreneurial achievements have been highlighted in the Queensland 40 Under 40 and the Australian Young Entrepreneur Awards, where he ranked 14th in the Top 100.

Dr. Gupta remains dedicated to advancing healthcare and medical education, combining his clinical expertise with a vision for impactful, sustainable change on a global scale.

Hon. Alan Tudge

Chairman

Alan is a former Cabinet Minister in the Australian Government, renowned for his dedicated service in various demanding portfolios such as Federal Education Minister and Immigration Minister. Beginning his political career in 2010, Alan navigated the complex landscape of Australian politics until his resignation in 2023.

Before his tenure in parliament, Alan cultivated a successful corporate path with The Boston Consulting Group, with professional placements in Australia, Asia, and New York. His academic achievements are equally impressive, holding an Honours degree in Law and Arts from the University of Melbourne and a distinguished MBA from Harvard University.

Currently residing in Melbourne, Alan finds joy in family life with his three children. His commitment to serving the community extends beyond politics, as he actively participates in several charity organizations. Notably, Alan played a pivotal role as a founding member of Teach for Australia, contributing significantly to shaping the education landscape in the country.

Kate Jones

With extensive experience in senior government and leadership roles, Hon Kate Jones is a prominent figure in the technology landscape. As the Executive Director of the Tech Council of Australia and an Independent Director on the Paralympics Australia board, Kate plays a crucial role in shaping the future of tech and sporting industries. Her involvement as a Strategic Advisor at Australian tech company Soda further highlights her commitment to fostering innovation. Additionally, Kate’s contributions extend to the realm of sports, serving as a Commissioner of the Australian Rugby League Commission and a board member of the Institute of Molecular Bioscience. Previously, as a Minister in the Queensland Government, Kate held diverse portfolios including State Development, Education, Innovation, Tourism, and Major Events. Her visionary leadership led to the successful implementation of significant policy reforms, such as the whole-of-government’s innovation agenda, Advance Queensland and Queensland’s inaugural climate change strategy. Notably, Kate played a crucial role in the triumph of the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games in 2018, showcasing her adeptness in delivering major events. Professor Russell L. Gruen is a trauma surgeon and health systems researcher with over 30 years of international experience.

Professor Gruen has led major initiatives in trauma care, surgical innovation, and interdisciplinary research, contributing to global health system improvements and medical education.

Dr Soliman El-Matbouly is a senior clinical advisor responsible for implementing KnG’s academic programs across UAE partner hospitals. With expertise in accreditation and healthcare systems integration, he helps tailor clinical education to regional healthcare needs. His work supports the seamless integration of academic frameworks into live clinical environments.

Dr Bipin Kumar Gupta (MBBS, MD, FRANZCOG)

Dr Bipin Gupta is a senior Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with extensive international experience in academic leadership. He has headed departments in Australia, India, and the Pacific, and played a key role in developing clinical training programs. His expertise supports the clinical rigour of KnG’s medical education offerings. He mentors emerging educators and contributes to academic leadership development.

Prof Venkatesh Shashidhar

Academic Lead, Basic Sciences
Prof Venkatesh Shashidhar is a senior academic with over 20 years of experience in medical education, specialising in anatomy, physiology, and biomedical sciences. He has taught across multiple Australian and international medical schools and has held leadership roles in curriculum development and delivery. At KnG, he oversees the integration of foundational sciences into pre-clinical education and contributes to the design of assessment frameworks and academic governance.

Dr. Jashint Maharaj

Medical Education Lead
Dr Jashint Maharaj is a clinical educator and researcher with a background in orthopaedics, public health, and medical education. His academic interests include shoulder biomechanics and interdisciplinary approaches to clinical research. At KnG, he supports curriculum design, academic governance, and research integration across clinical and foundational science programs.

Prof Ashish Gupta (MBBS, MSc, FRACS, FAOrthA)

Prof Ashish Gupta is an orthopaedic surgeon specialising in shoulder surgery, with a strong focus on surgical innovation, education, and translational research. He is the founder and leader of several health technology and research ventures, driving advancements in robotics, biomechanics, AI, and 3D printing. At KnG, he leads the development of surgical education and research strategy and plays a key role in postgraduate training. Prof Gupta combines clinical excellence with entrepreneurial vision to advance the future of surgical practice and education.

Dr Sajid Patel (MBBS, MD, DGO, FRANZCOG)

Academic Lead, Obstetrics & Gynaecology

Dr Sajid Patel is a senior specialist in obstetrics and gynaecology and Clinical Lead in Operative Laparoscopy at the Royal Hobart Hospital. He is an experienced examiner for RANZCOG and has supervised specialist trainees for over a decade. At KnG, he leads curriculum development in women’s health and procedural training, with a focus on advanced laparoscopy, fertility, and reproductive care.

Dr Joy Chakraborty MBChB, FRACS

Academic Lead, General Surgery
Dr Joy Chakraborty is a Colorectal and General Surgeon with interests in minimally invasive surgery and surgical education. He contributes to the development of KnG’s surgical training curriculum and supervises clinical placements. He also supports junior doctors in developing core surgical competencies. Dr Chakraborty is committed to fostering clinical excellence through structured mentorship and evidence-based surgical practice.

Dr Pranavan Palamuthusingam

MBBS MD DGO FRANZCOG – Obstetrician & Gynaecologist & Medical Education
Dr Pranavan Palamuthusingam is a Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) and General Surgeon with extensive experience in clinical leadership and surgical education. He has led regional multidisciplinary services across Queensland and remains actively involved in liver and pancreas research.

At KnG, he contributes to curriculum development in surgical sciences and supports the integration of research-led teaching in hepatobiliary training.

Dr Gina Hsu MBBS, FANZCA

Academic & Clinical Lead, Critical Care
Dr Gina Hsu is a specialist Anaesthetist with subspecialty training in regional anaesthesia and acute pain. She leads simulation-based and perioperative teaching within KnG’s critical care education programs. Dr Hsu contributes to the Group’s high-fidelity training environments and emergency medicine modules. She is particularly focused on improving perioperative outcomes through multidisciplinary team training and advanced clinical simulation.

Dr Amol Deshmukh MBBS, FRANZCP

Academic Lead, Psychiatry
Dr Amol Deshmukh is a consultant psychiatrist with over 20 years of experience in child, adolescent, and adult mental health. He supports the design of KnG’s psychiatry curriculum, with a focus on trauma-informed care and mental health education. He is also involved in student mentoring and public mental health projects. His career spans both public and private sectors, including clinical leadership and service development roles.

Dr Shaista Patel MBBS, MS, FRACGP

Academic Lead, General Practice
Dr Shaista Patel is a General Practitioner with a background in general surgery and over two decades of international clinical experience. She trained at Grant Medical College in Mumbai and spent 12 years working as a surgeon in the Maldives before transitioning to general practice in Australia, where she has served in both regional and metropolitan settings. At KnG, she contributes to primary care education, supervises International Medical Graduates, and supports training in chronic disease management, geriatric care, and community-based practice.

Dr Hemant Bhardwaj (MBBS, MPH, FRANZCR, FRACP)

Academic Lead, Radiology
Dr Hemant Bhardwaj is a dual-trained Radiologist and Nuclear Medicine Physician with expertise in diagnostic imaging and academic integration. He leads KnG’s radiology education initiatives, embedding imaging into clinical teaching and interprofessional learning. He supports research and curriculum development in diagnostic sciences. Trained in India, the USA, and Australia, Dr Bhardwaj brings a global perspective to medical imaging education and has held consultant roles at leading public and private institutions.

Assoc. Prof. Jagdish Maharaj (DSM, DCH, MPH, MMed, MASCH, FAFRM (RACP))

Academic Lead, Internal Medicine
A/Prof Jagdish Maharaj is a Rehabilitation Physician and global health expert. He leads the internal medicine curriculum at KnG with a focus on community-based care and long-term patient outcomes. His work includes mentoring medical educators and shaping health systems teaching. With over 40 years of experience across Australia and the Pacific, he has contributed to rehabilitation medicine, rural training, and international public health development.

Dr Rahul Thomas MBBS, FRACP

Academic Collaborator – Paediatrics (Respiratory)
Dr Rahul Thomas is a Paediatric Respiratory and Sleep Physician and NHMRC PhD scholar. He contributes to paediatric training at KnG, with a research focus on airway disease and diagnostic innovation. He supports curriculum development in paediatric respiratory science and applied research. Dr Thomas also holds appointments within leading children’s hospitals and brings active clinical insight to teaching and research translation.
